Tall women get me going. *growl*
These crossdressing-play episodes are full of hilarity. There’s a “Princess Syaoran and Prince Sakura” chapter in the manga, which is adapted into a later episode in the second season, but I love it how Madhouse basically one-upped the manga by giving Touya a crossdressing episode as well.
Oh yeah, aside from hilarity, those strange fangirls probably found some sick pleasure in seeing Touya in drag. 😛
It’s better than being a tree, I suppose
A magical can of mackerel instead of a fairy god mother? Well, at least Yukito doesn’t have to wear drag!
Well, I guess a few fangirls will try to attest that he, in fact, may want to crossdress, but moving along…
“What a weird play.”
THEY SAY IT.
The Mist card: “GRUMBLE GRUMBLE I HATE CROSSDRESSING GRUMBLE GRUMBLE SOCIETAL GENDER IDENTITY GRUMBLE
THIS PLAY MUST BE FIXED OR EVERYONE MUST DIIIIIIE”
Sakura and Syaoran! Protecting the first amendment of the United States Constitution! Even though we’re in Japan right now.
Crossdressers are people too. Stop being a jerk, Mist.
“I’m sorry, but I’m friendzoning you for Yukito.”
“Is that so?”
“God, I wish she was Yukito right now.”
It’s funny because I’m not even joking. xD
“God, I wished he was Syaoran right now.”
“God, I wished she was Touya.”
All in all, this episode was a classic. Don’t don’t if it was Cardcaptor Sakura or Kojirou from Pokemon that did it for me, but crossdressing in anime has always earned a guaranteed laugh from me. It’s amplified when it’s a character that has a manly aura about them, because it’s such an unusual sight you can’t help but to laugh.
