12 Days of Anime, Day 2: The Addiction of Haruhi Suzumiya

Holiday greetings from Gensokyo

Yesterday, I talked about how happy and excited I was about the Rurouni Kenshin revival that has been going on this year, and discussed how godly my hype is for the live-action movie.

But let me just clarify, I’m not only going to talk about notable shows/characters this year (best saved for a New Years post!), I’m also going be talking about activities I’ve been doing that are related to anime as well.

And with that, let’s get on with the second day… *kidnaps a bunch of singers*

On the second day of Christmas, my true love gave to me…

A sword is a weapon to kill...

One cross-shaped scar…

[First Day]

Haruhi shapes the world...literally

Two godly novels, and a partridge in a pair tree!

Catching up with my The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya light novel (hardcover) collection was definitely quite a thing this year. I was honestly tired of waiting for Kyoto Animation to give us another set of Haruhi episodes, so I decided that diving even deeper within the light novel’s story was the only thing that would give me my fix. Because my patience is running thin, man!

My addiction to Haruhi is comparable to a smoking addiction. Smokers have to have em’ blunts. And I gotta’ get my fix of reality-warping fun.

Too bad Yen Press only localizes two light novel volumes a year. Darn it!

(Oh boy, I should have never suggested this, haha. But I already started, so I have to see it through… wonder how long I can keep this silly thing going.)

  1. I’ve been debating whether or not to read the Haruhi light novels, I’ve only heard good things about them so who knows. I’m usually patient when it comes to anime getting released because I get sidetracked so easily by other anime =P

    1. @Shikon: Well, if you liked the anime, I can guarantee you the novels are just as good if not better. More narration from Kyon that’s not in the anime. plus, it doesn’t look like KyoAni’s going to get around to Haruhi anytime soon, so… 😛
But I guess it’s good that other anime helps keep your attention away from that fact. No matter how many anime I watch, my patience with KyoAni and Haruhi/FMP wavers. 😛
